Is Randisation on the table in Zimbabwe?

The authors are correct in pointing out the weakness of any proposal that cliams that a currency board is appropriate for Zimbabwe. The political rigidities required under a currency board would only distract the country in a time when political restraint need to be placed elsewhere.

You can almost envision Robert Mugabe rolling his eyes when he said:

Let’s not mourn over the inclusive government, let’s accept it as it is. But this government is an interim government to stabilise the economy and end violence and conflict.

As if Zimbabweans should commend him for his sacrifice of partaking in a unity government
